When Shawn was a child he dreamt of emulating Zorro – to protect the people from tyranny (and wear a cool mask and draw “Z”s everywhere). Twenty years of training and experience later, Shawn was still determined to find ways to help those in need. And so, in October 2006. Shawn founded Raising the Village.

Bernard is eager to help others because he too came from a very humble background. Thanks to the help of good hearted people, he became a BBA (Bachelors in Business Administration) graduate. Bernard only drinks fruit juice and flavoured drinks because he says it keeps him sweet. We couldn’t agree more.

RICHARD KIWEEWA

We love Richard. He’s a BSc (biochemistry) graduate with knowledge in everything, our jack of all trades. He’s a very hands-on kind of person and leads by example. He believes that each person has the same amount of potential to do many things; it’s just that some people need a hand to help them achieve their full potential.

Aurelie is a financial professional who brings 8 years of experience in the areas of financial reporting, planning and analysis, business modeling and analysis of operational processes. All to say, she’s really good at what she does and integral to our success. Not only keen with numbers, she’s pretty smashing at tennis too.

ROOPA REDDY

Prior to joining our team, Roopa, with her MSc in Development Studies, worked with grassroot NGOs in India. She is responsible for the development of programming and core methodology for our education initiatives. A risk-taker, she lives on the edge by adding lemons to her water.

JENNIFER AU

A designer by trade, Jen’s the talent behind making RTV look all kinds of handsomely-pretty. Having been with us since the start, she’s involved in everything visual related; from print to online and even those sticky money jar labels. She dreams of becoming a Spelling Bee champ, but we already think she’s a S-T-A-R.
