Job Description

The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of RTV’s operations within DRC. This role involves upholding partnership terms with local partners and developing and executing strategic plans to drive growth, Implementation, and planning. The Project Manager will lead a team of professionals, collaborate with cross-functional departments, and represent Raising The Village in the local market.

The project Manager will provide strategic Leadership to the RTV project team in DRC and ensure the development and implementation of programs, effective monitoring, and evaluation systems. He/she Constitutes a team in the furtherance of RTV programs. He/she provides leadership and planning to the organization’s goal of getting last-mile communities out of ultra-poverty. He/she will report directly to the Head of PEAL as his/her immediate supervisor. Occasionally, He/she will travel to the field to ensure proper and successful implementation of all program work.

Roles & Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Work collaboratively with local partner institutions and organizations to advance RTV strategy and objectives.
  • Develop and implement short-term and long-term strategies aligned with RTV’s objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for growth, program diversification, and in-country expansion, and provide strategic recommendations to senior management and the Head of PEAL.
  • Monitor trends, comparative landscape, and sector developments to adjust strategies.

 

Team Management

  • Ground preparation for building and inspiring a diverse team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide coaching and professional development opportunities, and conduct regular performance reviews.

 

Business Development

  • Drive in-country expansion by establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders. Identify new growth opportunities and develop strategies to expand RTV programs.
  • Collaborate with the PEAL, Implementation, and Operation teams to achieve operational objectives.

 

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and effective delivery of Country programs.
  • Implement best practices for operational efficiency, quality assurance, and risk management.

 

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure RTV compliance with local laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Mitigate risks associated with legal, regulatory, security and operational challenges.

 

Reporting and Communication

  • Provide regular updates to the Head of PEAL and other senior management on the country’s performance, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Foster open communication channels within the country/region

 

Others

  • Take part in donor meetings to express or clarify different processes and interpret reports as required.
  • Participate when possible in conferences and workshops related to M&E and keep abreast of best practices and new knowledge in the M&E sector.
  • Support the in-country expansion plans and make travels
  • Participate in onboarding and training schedules as guided. This might require travel to other areas of operation.

Requirements

Required Skills and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Development Studies, MBA, or advanced degree is preferred.
  • 10 years of proven experience in NGO Sector with 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Strong track record of achieving operational excellence and driving business growth.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of DRC Country NGO sector dynamics, culture, and business practices.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial management and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
  • Proficiency in relevant software like Microsoft Office, PowerPoint presentations, and others
  • Fluency in English and knowledge of the Local language(s) – Kiswahili and French
