Job Description

The Finance Officer will support the Senior Finance Officer in managing the accountability and reporting of the RTV beyonic wallet accounts transactions. Additionally, He/She will support field offices and projects in the areas of budget formulation, financial planning and monitoring; accounting/budget execution within field offices and also provide financial advisory services to RTV non-finance staff.

Roles & Responsibilities

Financial Management and Reporting

  • Ensure that Books of accounts are up to date at all times, orderly, well kept, and readily available for reference and audit when required.
  • Daily review of beyonic payments and pass them to the Administrator or the Finance Manager for Approval.
  • Prepare weekly beyonic expenditure cash logs to manage daily payment transactions for all payments made through the wallets
  • Follow up with field finance teams for all templates, invoices and receipts for all payments made on a weekly basis
  • Weekly reconciliation of beyonic payments transactions for all wallets to ensure that all reconcile with the beyonic payment statement
  • Writing vouchers for all payments made on a weekly basis
  • Weekly submission of the report on work done to the senior finance officer for review
  • Weekly preparation and submission of the beyonic wallets replenishment tracker to the administrator for review and replenishment
  • Monthly filing of all beyonic wallets transactions statements on the finance network bookkeeping folder by 1st of every month.
  • Monthly reconciliation of all beyonic wallets cash log transactions with the transaction’s statements
  • Monthly preparation of the beyonic payments Journal entries for all wallets and this should be done by 3rd of every month
  • Weekly and Monthly filing of all beyonic payments supporting documents on finance network for Bookkeeping purposes.
  • Update internal systems with financial data
  • Prepare monthly financial reports
  • Participate in budget preparation
  • Take part in budget tracking and monitoring
  • Review and implement financial policies
  • Send and follow up on invoices and other supporting documents for proper accountability
  • Review, reconcile and adhere to project activities accountabilities documentations
  • Collect and enter data for various financial spreadsheets
  • Reconcile any discrepancies or errors identified by conversing with employees and/or clients
  • Report any troubling discoveries or suspicion of wrongdoing to the Senior Finance Officer, FinanceAdministrator and the Finance Manager or management team as might be required
  • Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost-saving
  • Manage all the accountability documents and submit it to the Senior Finance Officer by 5th of every month
  • Provide support to staff through training to ensure adherence to financial processes and procedures

 

Financial Monitoring

  • Review and prepare monthly reconciliations for each beyonic wallet
  • Maintain the filing of all financial and accounting documents, files, and correspondence.
  • Assist with recording expenditures, income, and any other related transactions, in Raising the Village Field office financial tracking/recording program (currently Sage Accounting).

Requirements and Experience

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Excellent mathematical skills, understanding of data privacy standards, integrity, honesty, and critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial regulations
  • Ability to travel at least 30% of the time to different districts of RTV field operations
  • Previous experience with accounting software (Sage Accounting),
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.

 

Education, Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of (3) three years of professional experience in providing accounting and Bookkeeping, and proven experience in a Finance Officer role
  • Experience with beyonic transactions is a must.
  • Any level of CPA would be an added advantage.
